Linking in Design View

1. Open the page we made in the previous tutorial. This tutorial will go over the three types of links: anchor links, site links, external links. Anchor links are links to content inside the site page. Site links are links to other pages of your website. External links are links to pages that are not part of your site. So lets start. But before we do, type hello in all the cells of your table (typing hello in the top three columns are only required).
2. The first thing we are going to have to do is create some space in the document so we can actually see what anchor links do. So press the ENTER button a few times until you can no longer see your table. Now type Hello.

3. Make sure your curser is infront of the type and go to Insert > Named Anchor or CTRL + ALT + A. You will get this dialog box, fill in the name of the anchor, this is very important for later on. For now, name it hello. 1
4. When you press ok, you will get an icon infront of the type that looks like this.

5. Scroll to the top of the document so you can see the table again. Type something in the first box and highlight it. In the properties pannel, there is a box to the far right that says Link type in the box #hello. When you type this, it will make a link to the hello text ( # indicates you are linking to an anchor and hello is the name of the anchor). Your font should now turn blue and underlined.

6. The second link we will go over is a site link. So first we need to create a new page. Create a new page, save it (name it new), and exit out of it. Now go to the font in the middle column of the table and highlight it. Down in the Properties pannel go to link again and type new.html in the box. You have just created a link to the new page you made.
7. The last link we will talk about is the external link. Highlight the font in the last column and go down to properties pannel again. In the link box, type http://www.google.com. You have just created a link to google.
8. Now save your page and press F12 to view it in your default browser. Test out all of your links and make sure they work.
